We asked a panel of acclaimed pitmasters and barbecue experts across the Carolinas and Georgia for their favorites:
Rodney Scott Rodney Scott s BBQ (Charleston, SC, Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA) I would say baked beans. I would follow that with mac and cheese. And if the barbecue is super spicy, then I ll add coleslaw. We put barbecue sauce in [the baked beans], of course, We also put in some pork. Every now and again you get a little hearty bite of pork in there. I think that s why I like baked beans so much.
