Vaccinating eligible Jackson County residents against COVID-19 could take months, officials say Updated Jan 29, 2021; Facebook Share JACKSON, MI The Jackson County Health Department is focusing on vaccinating the next phase of eligible COVID-19 vaccine recipients, but officials warn it could take months before people get their shots. Due to the number of people who have signed up for appointments, compared to the current size of vaccine shipments, health officials said they are anticipating continued delays in the process. The most recent groups eligible for the vaccine include people age 65 and older; frontline and essential workers with frequent or ongoing exposure as a part of their work, including first responders, police officers, jail and prison staff; pre-K12 teachers and workers in childcare centers and protective services.
