Officers responded and found the victim, who they said was in his early 20s, shot several times.
Fire rescue brought him to Jackson Memorial Hospital s Ryder Trauma Center where was pronounced dead.
Police Chief Art Acevedo says this is the 20th murder in Miami this year.
“We’ve had three murders in three weeks, and that’s unacceptable, he said.
The chief attributed part of the problem with gun violence to the court system. What’s happening in this country is our courts have been shut down for over a year and it’s time for courts to open up and do their jobs, he said. Judges need to get back to work, prosecutors and defense attorneys need to get back to work.

The crash involving two SUVs occurred in the area of Beacom Boulevard and Southwest Fifth Street.
Miami police confirmed that the airbags deployed in the officer’s vehicle and he sustained a busted lip and was complaining of chest pain.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and it’s unclear which driver was at fault.
Beacom Boulevard, between Southwest Fourth Street and Fifth Street, was shut down after the crash as detectives investigated.

Miami-Dade Police said Betancourt was riding his bike in the area when he was hit by a Mercedes Benz C300 in the area of Northwest 196th Street and Northwest 47th Avenue.
The car fled the scene and Betancourt was left in the middle of the street. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital s Ryder Trauma Center where he died from his injuries.
