A man was killed over the weekend after a 37-foot boat struck the jet ski he was riding on the water,
NBC Miami reported.
The incident happened around 2:19 p.m. Saturday (May 1) near the Rickenbacker Marina. The victim killed in the boating hit-and-run was identified as 26-year-old
Alcides Valdez of Miami, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Officials said Valdez was taken to
Jackson Memorial Hospital s Ryder Trauma Center where he died from his injuries. Blunt force head trauma was listed as the cause of death, a medical examiner report said.
Authorities said 10 to 15 people were on board the boat at the time of the accident. Officials are looking for the person who was driving the vessel that day. The boat should have damage, like paint or transfer markings, on its right side, they added.

A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run over the weekend near the Rickenbacker Marina that left another man on a personal watercraft dead.
Jorge Rodriguez Del Rey, 50, of Miami, is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal boating accident, failure to render aid and failure to report to law enforcement, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

HIALEAH, Fla. – A suspected drug dealer was killed and two women were arrested following a shooting that occurred last week at a motel in Hialeah.
Temika Williams, 39, and Amalia Lisandra Gomez Alvarez, 31, were arrested Saturday on charges of second-degree murder, burglary with assault or battery and burglary of an occupied structure.
According to their arrest reports, the women and two other people went to the Palacio Inn at 845 E. Okeechobee Road in Hialeah Friday morning because one of the victims, who was staying at the motel for about a month with another man, owed one of the suspects $210 for drugs.

MIAMI – A man in his 20s died on Thursday after a shooting in Miami’s Allapattah area.
Miami Police Chief Art Acevedo and detectives responded to the Rosemont Park apartment complex on Northwest 24th Street, between Northwest 21st and Northwest 19th Avenues.
Officers surrounded the dark beige, two-story buildings owned by the Miami-Dade County housing agency, just west of Juan Pablo Duarte Park.

“The suspect that we have a description of is a Black male from his teens . early 20s, 5″6 to 5″8, 140-60 pounds, blue jeans, and a gray hoodie,” Acevedo said. “We put out that broadcast citywide . we are actively looking for that individual.”
