JACKSON, Tenn. Jackson-Madison County School System announces Coach Tony Brown transitions to full time administrative role.
According to the release, the longtime basketball coach for North Side High School will be leaving his current role to pursue school administration on a full time basis.
Brown led the Indians to more than 200 victories during his fifteen seasons as head coach. He is expected to take on a larger role following his elevation to assistant principal.
Per the release, “I am very excited to support Mr. Brown with his transition into school administration. He brings a wealth of academic knowledge and impeccable character to the position. I know he will continue to impact the lives of our students and provide strong leadership and support for our teachers and staff,” said North Side principal Jason Bridgeman.

The release from JMCSS says Dr. Kerri Anne Breeden has been chosen by Superintendent Dr. Marlon King.
Officials with the school system say Breeden brings both experience and diversity to the position.
“Dr. Breeden has over two decades of experience in a variety of educational settings at both the school and district levels. She was a federal programs director, elementary school principal, middle school principal and currently a high school principal. Her proven effectiveness in leading a high priority school to becoming a Level 5 school is a testament of her tenacity to do what’s best for students and teachers,” King said.

The National Weather Service in Memphis issued an ice and winter storm warning for nearly all of West Tennessee on Wednesday.
The NWS predicted freezing rain to from late Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon, causing Thursday closures.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing, which will keep ice in many areas across West Tennessee.
The NWS is stressing winter weather safety and monitoring the lastest conditions and forecasts.
