Additional death, 65 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Madison Co. January 22, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department has confirmed another Madison County resident has died due to COVID-19 complications. The health department says an 84-year-old man died Jan. 21 due to COVID-19 complications. A total of 161 Madison County residents have died due to COVID-19 complications. The health department also confirmed another 65 Madison County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed positive cases to 10,163. Those new patients range in age from 11-months-old to 78-years-old. There are currently 22 Madison County residents are hospitalized, with three of those patients on a ventilator.

Health dept launches new vaccine scheduling tool for ages 75 and up

WBBJ TV January 22, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. There’s a new way for Madison County residents 75 and older to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments. Health department officials say their phone lines crashed when they first opened up COVID-19 vaccine scheduling by phone. Since their phone system went back online earlier this year, the phones have been busy with calls from residents. To help ease the strain and help Madison County residents ages 75 and older make vaccination appointments, the health department created an online scheduling link. “We have been busy, so that’s great, we have a lot of interest in this new system. We’re really excited to be able to launch it today and give people the opportunity to schedule their appointments online,” said Mallory Cooke, Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department’s public information officer.
