JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee member and deputy State Security Minister Zizi Kodwa said that Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane insulted Jackson Mthembu’s memory by not wearing a mask at his funeral.
Kodwa criticised what he called an avoidable situation during a virtual memorial in honour of the late Minister in the Presidency.

JOHANNESBURG - After mounting backlash over the Mpumalanga premier’s failure to wear a mask at late Minister Jackson Mthembu’s funeral, her spokesperson continues to insist that the flouting of regulations was the result of human error.
Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane has since apologised for not wearing her mask, with both a police officer and Deputy President David Mabuza having to tell her to cover her face.

PRETORIA - A memorial service for the late Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu is being held in Pretoria.
The minister passed away last week after being hospitalised with the coronavirus.
His funeral was held on Sunday at his home in Emalahleni.

JOHANNESBURG - The memorial service of the late Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu will be held on Monday in Pretoria.
Mthembu succumbed to COVID-19 last week, a few days after he was admitted to hospital.
Mthembu’s memorial service was due to be held on Saturday but was postponed after engagements between the presidency and his family.

The late minister in the presidency, Jackson Mthembu, was hailed for his honesty, humility and humour by his family, comrades and those who worked closely with him. Speakers at his funeral held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in eMalahleni yesterday took turns remembering the man they loved and respected for his honesty and courage.
