According to JSO, a man was sitting in his car on Pippin Street shortly before 10 p.m. when two men with handguns approached him and one of them told him to get out of the car. The man tried to drive away but was shot in the head, back and arm, police said. The man was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Father David Terrence Morgan, or Father Terry Morgan, was a 27-year-old religion teacher at Bishop Kenny High School at the time. The priest is accused of having a sexual relationship with the 17- or 18-year-old, lasting two to three months. The victim, now in their 60s, told police they were never forced to have sex. The victim also told police they had no intention of pursuing criminal charges and knows the incident is past the statute of limitations.

In a 15-page lawsuit filed Wednesday, the 28-year-old woman claims during Sunday’s peaceful protest on the courthouse lawn officers with the Sheriffs Office “slammed” her on the sidewalk and she was “struck on the head by JSO officers.”
