The Norfolk and Norwich Christian community website Pandemic is ideal time to launch Thetford church The young couple behind a new church in Thetford say a pandemic is the ideal time to plant a new congregation as this should be the time that churches are actually made for. Keith Morris reports. Microbiologist Matt (aged 35) and primary school teacher Tor Bush (36) launched Thetford Vineyard Church in the middle of the pandemic last July. They have lived in Thetford since 2007 and the new church was planted from West Suffolk Vineyard Church in Bury St Edmunds. Monthly community meals began back in 2018, but it was over the summer that the couple were formally commissioned into their new role as church leaders.
First vaccine for plants in development in bid to end use of poisonous pesticides

A treatment for plants which scientists have said acts like a vaccine is under development as researchers battle to end the use of poisonous pesticides.
The National Farmers Union campaigned for sugar beet growers to be able to use Cruiser SB, which tackles the disease Virus Yellows, in order to save this year s crop.
The disease is carried by aphids, which are killed by the neonicotinoid.
