ALBANY – A red 2015 Chevrolet Corvette complete with a Stingray trim and a 6.2-liter, V8 engine could be yours at the right price.
The seller? The state of New York.
The state Office of General Services will hold a live, online auction Tuesday for the flashy sports car, which has 31,320 miles on the odometer and a GM 8L90 automatic transmission.
The state came into possession of the Corvette after it was stolen from its rightful owner, with Department of Motor Vehicles investigators recovering it in Rochester, according to OGS.
When the car was recovered, DMV investigators found it with an altered Vehicle Identification Number, according to the state, which issued it a new VIN and new title.

After taking a wait-and-see approach to the coronavirus vaccines, Sean Salmonson of Dutchess County received his second shot of the Moderna vaccine at a former JC Penney store at the Poughkeepsie Galleria on May 22.
Salmonson, a 28-year-old mechanic from the City of Poughkeepsie, said he remembered visiting the JCPenney store before it closed in October. However, the mechanic also recalled the lack of notoriety and product availability that plagued the department store for years. This store was too big, Salmonson said. They didn t have too many name-brand stuff and the stuff they had was old and out of style.
