Vassalboro Town Forest Trail Being Extended by More Than a Mile
According to the Kennebec Journal, there s going to be an extension by more than a mile to an existing trail system in Vassalboro, Maine.
The town of Vassalboro is in there sestercentennial, which means it has been 250 years since the original incorporation. As part of that, the town and the Kennebec Water District were able to reach an agreement about extending the current Vassalboro Town Forest Trail by about 1.1 miles.
The extension will go onto land that is currently owned by the Kennebec Water District and will take hikers to a spot in the woods that overlooks Red Brook. The Vassalboro Trails committee will be leading the project and there is no information on when the extension may be complete.

Vassalboro’s town forest trail is getting a 1.1 mile extension after town leaders and the Kennebec Water District reached an agreement earlier this month.

He talks about being the leader of his strong team. Huh, it’s not even half time in the election and he’s got problems wi’ his boots – he can’t fill the ones he’s been given and in spite of great exhortations he’s also having trouble keeping his socks pulled up. Aye weel, as the old saying goes pick the runt of the litter and you’ll always regret it.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The director of the Northern New England Rail Authority is receiving a lifetime achievement award for her commitment to passenger rail service.
Patricia Quinn was honored by the New England Railroad Club Executive Committee, which bestowed upon her the Vincent R. Terrill Lifetime Achievement Award. The club cited “outstanding work, dedication to the industry, and her leadership presence.”
Quinn has served since 2005 as executive director of the authority that oversees Amtrak’s Downeaster between Boston and Brunswick, Maine.
