New residential parking zone confirmed for Takapuna

Source: Auckland Council Takapuna will soon have a new residential parking zone – providing greater parking availability and flexibility for residents and visitors. The zone will mean anyone can park for up to two hours, with exemptions for residents who can purchase permits to park anytime. Auckland Transport (AT) asked for public feedback on the proposal in October last year and received 525 responses. After listening to feedback, AT reduced the size of the zone to cover the streets closest to the town centre where it has been hardest to find a car park. The new amended parking zone will cover Bracken Avenue, Tennyson Avenue, Sanders Avenue and Park Avenue. It will also cover part of Burns Avenue, Huron Street, Northcroft Street and Byron Avenue.
