Otto Arndt was born in Germany in 1939 and later came to Canada. He worked for a timber marking crew for the forest service and lived in a cabin in the Hart Highway area. He married Janice Rowan, the girl across the street. At the age of 20 and with two suitcases of his worldly belongings in hand, Bill Bosnich said a big goodbye to his family in northern Ontario and headed west. He got a job at the Canfor Plywood Mill in New Westminster in 1958 and a few years later he met and married Donna MacMillan. The couple moved to Pineview and in 2001 he retired after many years as a carpenter. In their retirement Bill and Donna have been enjoying their volunteer work at the Pineview Hall and by entertaining the community through their involvement with the Forever Young Chorus, the Country Cuzzins and the drama club at the Elder Citizens Recreation Centre.

While talking to The Big Issue, she added: But by the time I was 16 I think I was a lot more upbeat, quite happy in myself. I ve always enjoyed my own company, and I think I d got through it all by then.
Susie will celebrate 30 years on Countdown next year and has since spoken of how she didn t expect to still be a part of the daytime classic.
She gushed: It is bizarre that I have been on this show for so long.

Beach hut plan for Isle of Sheppey s wartime covered way relic

A retired engineer has hatched a plan to convert a dangerous wartime relic threatened with demolition into a series of beach huts.
Grandfather Bernie Watson wants to save the covered way which runs along the coast road between Barton s Point Coastal Park in Sheerness and the White House restaurant in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey.

He said: One solution could be to use it for beach huts. It is in a lovely, sheltered position with what could be a nicely landscaped lake for boats in front with car parking behind. It would be a sun trap.

Sovereign Claims Appoints 2 Executives
Sovereign Claims, a risk management consulting firm based in New York, has appointed Neal Conolly as president and John Humphreys as chief claims officer.
Founder Timothy Gallagher, who previously served as president, will now serve as chief operating officer.
Humphreys will oversee claims administration and provide strategic direction in the management of resources. He joins Sovereign Claims following more than 30 years in the property and casualty insurance industry with both legal experience and national and international executive claims experience. He has led legal groups in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom for Travelers Insurance Co. where he most recently served as senior vice president and claim general counsel, Sovereign said in a press release.
