At this month’s regular meeting, the Board of Trustees for Johnson County School District #1 considered and approved the district’s employment recommendations as presented to them.
Approved were the resignation of Morgan Kremers as assistant volleyball coach at Clear Creek Middle School, effective immediately.
The retirement of a number of teachers from various schools in the district were also approved for John Hepp, Ron Chapin, Clark Chesbro, and Shelley Armstrong that will take effect at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
A salary advancement for Aaron Mines was also approved, moving from a BA+30 to MA.

Two special meetings were held last week, one with Johnson County School District staff and parents, and the other by the school board, to discuss the possibility of moving the district to a trimester system and also to discuss the hiring process to replace current Superintendent Jim Wagner, who gave his resignation earlier this month.
BHS Principal Gib Ostheimer discussed the proposal to change their master schedule system to the board during a special meeting Wednesday, saying the idea is to ultimately help the students.
Staff discussed different schedules at different school districts around the state to find what might work here, which were the current 8-period schedule, accelerated block, alternate block, and the trimester block, and brought them before the board for a decision on which master schedule to have for the high school.
