1 dead following Plane Crash in Johnson County
TIFFIN, IA (KWWL) - One person is dead after Johnson County Sheriff s Office responded to an airplane crash on 250th and Greencastle Avenue Northwest in rural Tiffin, at 3:52 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses say they saw the plane near Greencastle Airport in nearby Oxford, before the plane crashed into a neighboring field.
The victim s identity has not been released at this time, until the family has been fully notified.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
The Sheriff s Office received assistance from Iowa State Patrol, Johnson County Medical Examiner s Office and Emergency Management, North Liberty Police Department, and Tiffin and Oxford fire departments.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa - One person is died from a single-engine plane crash in rural Tiffin Sunday.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says they went to the crash site just before 4 p.m.
Calls to 9-1-1 from witnesses said that an airplane was seen near the Green Castle Airport and had crashed in a nearby farm field.
The name of the person who died is being withheld until the family is notified.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will be joining the investigation.
