Parents who spoke to The Record said the photo alterations were done without consent, and they said the changes send a negative message to young girls about their bodies. They also said because the editing was poorly done and the girls are being teased.  The controversy comes as the school is already embroiled in a debate over its handling of the district s dress code, which some say is sexist and unfairly targets girls. A Facebook group called St. Johns County District: Change the Dress Code has been active in drawing attention to the issue and putting pressure on the school district to amend its policy, particularly in how they say it targets young women.
