Manipur Govt Plans to Legalize Country Liquor, Begins Inspection of Manufacturing Units
The Select Committee led by its chairman, Deputy CM Y Joykumar started inspecting DIC liquor at different parts of the state.

Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar has started inspecting distilled indigenous country (DIC) liquor. This step comes in a bid to legalise the production and sale of country-made liquor in the state.
A select committee, formed under the chairmanship of Deputy CM Joykumar, inspected two DIC manufacturer units at Sekmai Awang Leikai and Phayeng in Imphal West on Wednesday.
The Deputy CM spoke to media and said that the team inspected the DIC manufacturer units to see if the manufacturing process and premises as well. The team checked if the local liquors were clean and not toxic as well as to form an opinion.

GUWAHATI: With the steep hike in the price of vehicle fuel across the country, vehicle owners are now shelling out as much as Rs 100/litre for petrol.
In the latest round of price revision in fuel oil which is market-determined, the price of petrol in Sri Ganganagar in Rajathan has reached Rs. 98.40 per litre whereas premium petrol has reached Rs. 101.80 per litre.
