PERRY, Ga. Friday marks the second night of the 31st annual Georgia National Rodeo in Perry.
The rodeo features pre-event festivities including vendors selling clothes and food, and a livestock show with youth 4-H clubs exhibiting their animals.
The main show will feature cowboys, horses, and bulls putting on a show for the 1,700 people expected to attend.
Chief Marketing Officer Keaton Walker hopes this event can be the start of getting things back to normal. PERRY, Ga. The Georgia National Rodeo, along with a host of events kicked off this weekend.
Saturday, people from across Georgia came to the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry to enjoy animals, vendors and the 31st rodeo show.
13WMAZ spoke with one participant who says it s an awesome experience It s so much work, getting them ready, and then it all comes down to one judges opinion, of if your cow looks the best. Getting to work with your animal for hours and hours a day, you grow a relationship with your animal and that bond can never be broken, Aidan Taylor said.
Georgia National Rodeo returns for 31st year; tickets sold out
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) The Georgia National Rodeo is back for its 31st year.
If this isn’t your first rodeo, things will look different than they have in years past when the event starts on Thursday.
“Being able to have this event not only says we’re able to start having events in general, but we’re just looking forward to seeing people out enjoying what they love to go participate in with their families and just having a good time overall,” Chief Marketing Director for Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter Keaton Walker said.

Reaves Arena will be open to fans Thursday-Saturday and there will be more than 200 animals bulls, calves, horses, and steers.
Marty Barnes, who brought the animals down from Iowa, says there s a lot in store. Barnes has been bringing stock down for the last 30 years.

PERRY, Ga. The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agriculture Center had to cancel some 2020 events because of the pandemic, including the Georgia National Fair.
As we get ready to head into 2021, the Georgia National Rodeo is still scheduled for Feb. 18-20.
