KENNESAW, Ga. – Georgia Tech softball (14-25) was unable to make up for a sluggish start against Kennesaw State (22-19), falling 5-2 on Friday at Bailey Park. The Yellow Jackets rallied in the top of the seventh to fill the base path, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity despite the go-ahead run stepping to the plate twice.
Kennesaw State adversely got off to a quick start, knocking a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first. The Owls added three more runs in the third by way of an RBI double and a following single that scored two to take a 4-0 lead. THE FLATS – No. 31 Georgia Tech men’s tennis heads to Rome, Ga., for the start of the 2021 ACC Men’s Tennis Championships at the Rome Tennis Center, opening play as the No. 8 seed against No. 9 seeded Miami on Thursday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m. (EST).
The Jackets are on a two match win streak following victories against Boston College and Louisville to end the regular season. Tech finished the 2021 campaign with a 12-8 record, with a 6-6 (.500) showing in conference play. Earlier in mid-February the Jackets suffered a 6-1 loss to the Hurricanes on the road, giving them extra incentive to start post season with a chip on their shoulders.
Florida A&M vs. Georgia Tech Men s Basketball Highlights
The Yellow Jackets defended their home court and defeated Florida A&M 74-64. Georgia Tech controlled things down low, outrebounding the Rattlers 38-28 and outscoring them in the paint 34-16. Moses Wright led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 24 points to go with his seven rebounds. Michael Devoe added 15 points and eight rebounds. Bubba Parham scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out three assists.

Another weekend, another comeback win on the diamond
Entering the eighth inning on Sunday against the Troy Trojans, the Panthers trailed 15-9. As Head Coach Brad Stromdahl put it, “[It] was an unbelievably resilient win for our team.”
Georgia State put up five runs in the eighth to send the game into extras before Kyle Riesselmann walked off with a two-run home run in the 10th. They won the weekend series, taking two games out of three.
Their next game comes tonight in a one-game stint against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Blake Neleman made her 12th start and 18th appearance in the circle this season as three other Jacket pitchers saw action throughout the game (
Naomi Dickerson, Lexi Ray, Palmer Pinholster).
Virginia Tech went up early, scoring the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the opening frame. The Hokies followed that with a pair of two-run homeruns and three-run bombs in the second and third innings to take an 11-0 lead. Virginia Tech added one more solo shot in the fourth to come away with the 12-0 win in five innings.
