Vaccine supply unchanged in Bulloch County Department of Health says two more Bulloch residents likely died of COVID The number of vaccine doses allocated by the Georgia Department of Health to Bulloch County remained unchanged through the end of the week and two more local residents became likely fatalities due to COVID-19 on Thursday. Public Safety/Emergency Management Agency Director Ted Wynn said the Department of Health reported the two probable deaths were Bulloch citizens who received a positive antigen/rapid test for COVID-19, developed COVID symptoms and subsequently died.

Fatal shooting under investigation in Statesboro An investigation is underway after a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds behind an apartment Thursday night in Statesboro and later died from his injuries. According to the Statesboro Police Department, officers were dispatched to Blakewood Apartments on East Olliff Street around 7:40 p.m. Thursday for a male shot at that location. Upon arrival, they located 32-year-old John Trivonne Howard, of Statesboro, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds behind an apartment.

Obituary - Michael Benjamin “Mike” Olliff Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory Michael Benjamin “Mike” Olliff, age 73, passed away quietly with his loving children at his side on Friday, January 22nd, 2021, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center following a brief hospitalization due to a chronic medical illness.     Mike was born in Metter, Ga., on September 9th, 1947, to the late Mr. James Clifton Olliff and Mrs. Mae Cumming Olliff. He attended school in Statesboro, graduating from Marvin Pittman Laboratory School in 1965 with many honors in athletics, including a scholarship to South Georgia College for basketball.     While attending South Georgia College, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mike was a Vietnam veteran, having proudly served his country for four years.
