Hundreds of people gathered with the family of George Floyd on Sunday in front of the downtown Minneapolis courthouse in which his murderer had been convicted a month earlier.
Gov. Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter were on hand to watch, alongside a dozen of Floyd’s family members, as speakers called for justice for families of Black men slain by police, with chants of, “No justice, no peace!” and “Say his name!” The Associated Press reported.
