How Does Case TV450B CTL Perform?

How Does Case TV450B CTL Perform? SHARE By Frank Raczon, Senior Editor / February 17, 2021 The 90-horsepower TV450B is the largest compact track loader offered by Case Construction Equipment and has sold well since its debut at World of Concrete last year. Case cites its 8-inch multifunction LCD screen, rearview camera, and speed- and response-selectable electro-hydraulic (E-H) controls among the biggest reasons why. Construction Equipment asked the independent experts at the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150 in Wilmington, Illinois, to see if the company is right. Operator/instructor Brian Russell and third-year apprentice Bakarie Wilks, hand-picked out of a skid steer loader class for the assignment, were eager to test the vertical-lift machine on a rare sunlit January day.

How to find your next compact track loader

This isn’t surprising. Compared with their nearest equipment kin – skid steers – CTLs are relative newcomers to the industry. So CTLs remain in a phase of development that includes rapid advances. Two other factors propel CTL development. First is their broad, enthusiastic acceptance by customers. Maintaining market share requires OEMs to stay at the forefront of product development. Second, the industry as a whole continues to make great gains in technology as advances in electronics, metallurgy and basic design bring peak performance to all types of equipment. This is as true for CTLs as for any other category. The downside? In a world of relentless product development, it can be hard for customers to feel assured they’re getting the best from their equipment decisions. So, we ve provided some tips from experts to help you learn more about the new compact track loaders and what you should look for when searching the market for your next CTL.

Compact Track Loaders Push Size Boundaries

Large CTLs experience rapid growth as contractors demand greater performance. April 15, 2021 Caterpillar s largest compact track loader, the 299D3 XE, delivers outstanding performance when powering high production hydromechanical attachments like mulching heads. This machine supplies a 110-gross-hp engine that combines with a 40-gpm high-flow/high pressure hydraulic system, delivering a hydraulic horsepower rating of 94 hp. Caterpillar Several manufacturers offer skid steer and compact track loaders (CTLs) with over 3,500-lb. rated operating capacities (ROC) and operating weights exceeding 10,000-lbs. These units cross the boundary from utility to production machine, yet they offer a relatively compact package. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) recently changed its size classifications to address the growing popularity of larger units. “We used to have 2,600-lb. & Over ROC,” says Tyler Zima, product specialist for loaders, Bobcat. “Now we have added

Houston Texans Analyst John Harris reacts to the Texans new head coach hire, David Culley

Copied! Spending the week in Mobile, Alabama, I followed the Texans head coaching search from afar. I relied a ton on my guys over at SportsRadio 610 to keep me informed as I studied future NFL prospects. On Tuesday, I was making my way down to Hancock Whitney Stadium, listening to Landry Locker and John Lopez as Landry did a deep dive into what many felt were the final two candidates. He pulled up David Culley s bio and began listing out his credentials and background. He played at Vanderbilt, then was a Running Back Coach at Austin Peay in 1978, then Receivers Coach at Vandy from 1979 to 1981…
