The Grade 11 and 12 English classes at Villa Française des Jeunes (VFJ) will be hosting a virtual concert ‘Mieux Ensemble – Better Together’ on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. The concert will be broadcast on Eastlink’s Channel 10, as well as on VFJ’s Facebook page. The dining room at Canlis is a marvel of mid-20th-century modernist architecture, all pitched angles and Frank Lloyd Wright aesthetics. With sweeping views of Lake Union and the Cascades, the upscale Queen Anne restaurant has been a destination for anniversaries, birthdays, and other celebrations since it opened 70 years ago. Throughout the decades, the James Beard Award winner has become known for its impeccable service and elevated atmosphere that is refined without being too stuffy.

As teen driving deaths have spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic, a new report by the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), which has partnered with the Ford Motor Company Fund, examines the significant role speed plays in teen driving fatalities and presents parents with practical tools to keep teens safer.
Study Finds Major Relationship
The analysis found that between 2015 and 2019, teens and their passengers – aged 16 to 19 – accounted for a more significant proportion of speed-related fatalities than all other age groups. During the five years, nearly 5,000 teens and their passengers died in speed-related crashes.
