As the pandemic rages, its uncertainty has left countless families scrambling to pay bills much less put together any semblance of a holiday celebration. Blame COVID-19 for the restraints on typical yuletide celebrations that have upended gatherings and nearly stopped travel.
Its a lump of coal in everyones stocking.
But take heart. While interactions with friends and family are restricted and tightened budgets can blot out cheer, some celebrations, traditions and revelry can proceed albeit with some caution, Dallas College experts say.
Creating connections through our experiences with those we care about is valuable. But during COVID, thats more challenging because of social distancing, said Karen Cuttill, a licensed professional counselor at Dallas Colleges Richland Campus. In-person gatherings may be prohibited but connections can still be intimate over social media platforms, she said.
