On the latest episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross discussed WWF’s Invasion pay-per-view from 2001 and why WWE released Buff Bagwell shortly after his debut in WWE: Buff had a higher opinion of his work than Vince did. I’ve become the bad guy because I’m the middle man. I’m the guy that delivers the bad news, or the good news at times. I don’t hold any animosity to this day on Marc Bagwell whatsoever. I saw where he had a car wreck, and it was involving, I think drinking, maybe. Something here the last few months. He just wasn’t a good fit. That partying lifestyle, we’re trying to distance ourselves a little bit if we could. Vince just didn’t see the money in Marc that Marc saw in himself.

I do this to myself for all of you, and I hope you’re happy about that. Welcome to an idea I’ve had brewing in my head for awhile, where I will once a month, watch a very bad PPV and then spend time whining and moaning about, and eventually giving myself a coronary. First up, why did I do this to myself? It’s WCW New Blood Rising from August of 2000, yep it’s WCW in 2000, joy to the damn world. Fun fact before starting to complain, this was named after the New Blood stable, who had already disbanded the previous month. Before starting, I have Cafe Mocha espresso and collection of Japanese monster movies on standby in case I need it. Also, before even starting the matches, we need to talk about the commentary because holy smokes, it is some of the worst I’ve ever heard. It makes Heel Cole look like prime JR in comparison.
