May/June 2021 National Senior Certificate exams to start on Wednesday

The timetable for the May/June National Senior Certificate examinations for those who have applied for a rewrite has been released and candidates are expected to sit for their first exam on Wednesday.
The exams, which were set to start on May 5, were postponed and will now begin on May 26 and end on July 7.
The first week of the exams will see a lot of language papers being written. The morning paper starts at 9am while the afternoon exam starts at 2pm.
The matric second-chance examinations which are written mid-year are also known as supplementary exams.
Examinations form part of the Second Chance Matric Support Programme.
Candidates can register online or at their nearest district office.
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) is inviting candidates to register for the 2021 May/June National Senior Certificate examinations which will give those who did not satisfy the requirements for a certificate the second opportunity to do so . This examination grants candidates that registered for the November 2020 examination, but may not have satisfied the requirements for a certificate, a second opportunity to do so, the department said in a statement on Friday. In addition, these examinations are open to candidates who could not sit or finish the examination due to various reasons, including medical reasons, a death in the family or some other special reason, the DBE added.
