Authorities identify 2 men found shot to death near Shively

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) Authorities have identified the two men who were shot and killed near Shively early Wednesday evening.  The shooting was reported around 5:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Gagel Avenue, between Dixie Highway and Manslick Road, according to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell. On Thursday, the Jefferson County Coroner s Office identified the victims as 23-year-old Tyron Grant and 26-year-old John Johnson. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.  LMPD s Homicide Unit is investigating, but there are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tip line at 574-LMPD (5673). Callers can remain anonymous. 

24-year-old killed in Bessemer, police investigate homicide

BESSEMER A Tuesday-night shooting in Bessemer has left one man dead. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, 24-year-old Dusharme Mandell Jones sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault inside his residence in the 1300 block of Fairfax Avenue in Bessemer. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday night at 9:11 p.m. The Bessemer Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide, and no suspects are in custody at this time.

Authorities identify man and woman found shot to death in east Louisville driveway

According to the Jefferson County Coroner s Office, those individuals have been identified as 68-year-old Donald Burns and 66-year-old Peggy Burns. LMPD Eighth Division Officers were called to 800 Dorsey Way, not far from Shelbyville Road, on a report of a double shooting around 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, according to LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley. When officers arrived on scene, they the two people deceased in the driveway, according to Smiley.  Smiley said police believe all individuals involved in the shooting have been accounted for. Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances of the shootings, she said. LMPD s Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. Smiley said there is no threat to the public.

38-year-old ID d as pedestrian killed on I-59/20 in Bessemer

38-year-old ID’d as pedestrian killed on I-59/20 in Bessemer Updated Dec 15, 2020; Authorities have released the name of a pedestrian killed on Interstate 59/20 early Monday. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Derrick Martres Bradford. He was 38 and lived in Birmingham. The crash happened at 6:13 a.m. Monday on I-59/20 northbound near the Alabama Adventure Parkway exit. Authorities said Bradford was walking in the roadway when he was struck. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:25 a.m. Bessemer police said the driver stopped and is cooperating with the police.
