Bessemer man shot, later dies at hospital Share Updated: 6:37 PM CDT Mar 31, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital Share Updated: 6:37 PM CDT Mar 31, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital The Jefferson County Sheriff s Office is investigating a shooting in which a Bessemer man died.The JCSO reports deputies were called to the 700 block of Fields Lane about 11:34 a.m. Tuesday, and found a person struck by gunfire.The victim was taken to UAB Hospital, where that person later died.The Jefferson County Coroner Medical Examiner s Office released the identity of that person as Jeremy Fields, 42.The JCSO says the shooting appeared to be a result of a domestic disturbance and the investigation continues.
Updated: 12:04 AM CST Dec 15, 2020 WVTM 13 Digital UPDATE: Saturday, Dec. 12, 8:40 p.m.: The Birmingham Police Department have made an arrest after a body was found inside a burned building last week.The victim, whose decapitated body was set on fire inside a vacant building, has been identified as 34-year-old Maxim Voronetsky.Jason Adams, 41, has been charged with murder in connection with Voronetsky s death. Adams is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 bond. UPDATE: Saturday, December 12: The Birmingham Police Department says this is now a homicide case and a person of interest is in custody. Detectives say there was an altercation inside the building which led to the victim being fatally wounded, decapitated, and set on fire.The victim s name has not been released pending proper identification and notification of family.
