Multiple Explosions Level Used Car Dealership in Upstate New York
An Upstate New York used car dealership has been reduced to rubble after an explosive overnight fire.
G&J Auto Sales at 22033 US Route 11 just outside the city limits in the town of Pamelia, near Watertown was destroyed by fire early this morning.
Several fire departments responded to the blaze around 3:30AM Thursday, May 6. The property was formerly the location of Dave Foster RV Sales and was fully involved with heavy fire when they arrived.
Firefighters reported multiple explosions at the scene.

Numerous fire departments responded to the scene including Northpole, City of Watertown, Town of Watertown, Pamelia, Glen Park, Adams and Calcium. Guilfoyle Ambulance, Watertown Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff s Office assisted at the scene.

BRIGHTON The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people were shot late on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. A man was killed and a woman was injured.
Deputies were first called to the city of Brighton on reports of shots fired around 10:47 p.m. While in the area of Seventh Avenue, they heard additional shots being fired and went towards the location on Eight Avenue.
They found a man on Eighth Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds. He was lying near his vehicle, according to Sgt. Joni Money. Medics responded to the call and pronounced the victim dead on the scene. He was later identified as Cameron Terrell Smith, 35, of Brighton.

BRIGHTON, Ala. (WBRC) - Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in Brighton.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Cameron Terrell Smith. He was 35.
Officers were patrolling near 7th Avenue Wednesday night around 10:47 when they heard more shots being fired nearby. Deputies went to 8th Avenue where they found a man, lying next to his vehicle. He had been shot to death.
FAIRFIELD The Fairfield Fire Department is being credited for catching a suspected arsonist in the act.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, firefighters were returning from an earlier fire when they spotted another fire in the 500 block of Court B. They stopped to extinguish the fire that had started inside an enclosed porch of a home.
Firefighters spotted a man on the porch and the man fled the scene. Firefighters contacted the sheriff’s office and deputies were able to catch the man.
The suspect was identified as Christopher Abdur Ali, 21, of Fairfield. Ali was charged with burglary second-degree and arson second-degree. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on May 5. He was given cash bonds totaling $31,000.
