Shots fired during police chase in Warrior, teen in custody

Warrior A teen is in custody after an early-morning car chase and shooting in Warrior on Tuesday. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were called to assist with an investigation after a vehicle pursuit in Warrior resulted in shots being fired.  A report from the sheriff’s office says the chase began when an officer with the Warrior Police Department attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Main Street in Warrior at approximately 2 a.m. The driver refused to stop and continued on Warrior Trafford Road towards the city of Trafford.  

Man charged in deadly east Jefferson County shooting

From The Tribune staff reports JEFFERSON COUNTY A man is charged with murder after a shooting in east Jefferson County on Monday, April 12, 2021. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Andrew Lawrence, 31, was killed when someone shot into a white Cadillac sedan in the 1100 block of Florentine Circle. The shooting happened around 4:52 p.m. Deputies arrived on the scene and learned the victim had been waiting for a ride at an apartment complex when the suspect arrived at the location. “The victim and the suspect were acquainted through relationships with a female witness,” said Sgt. Joni Money. “When the suspect saw the victim, he produced a gun and fired at the Cadillac as the victim attempted to leave with the two additional witnesses. ”

Deputies said at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021, they were sent to the 400 block of 56th Street in Fairfield to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle. The subscription-based, in-car security system detected the location of the stolen vehicle and deactivated its operation. They then contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
