CLAY Business owners in Clay are hoping the public can help bring a crook to justice after items were stolen from their car wash twice.
The incidents happened at Raindrop Car Wash, off Deerfoot Parkway. The new business is undergoing renovations and is expected to be opened in February 2021.
The owner, Tara Buchanan, said the first crime that happened was the theft of a subcontractor’s trailer and tools. Thankfully, Buchanan said the trailer was recovered.
But on Dec. 23, another incident happened at the location. Surveillance cameras captured a man at 4 a.m. taking more items from behind the building. The vehicle the person was in was described as a silver or light gray Ford F-150 regular cab truck. In the bed of the truck, were large black bags and a large aluminum barrel that was taken from the business.

CENTER POINT, Ala. (WBRC) - The Jefferson County Sheriffâs Office is investigating a shooting at a Center Point apartment complex Wednesday night.
Deputies say they received a call at approximately 7:45 p.m. of a fight in the parking lot of Charter East Apartments on 15th Terrace NE.
Shortly after the first call, deputies say a second call came in of a shooting. Arriving deputies located a male victim with non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.

CENTER POINT The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call on Wednesday evening asking for deputies to investigate a fight in the parking lot of Charter East Apartments. A short time later, a second 911 call from the apartments reported a shooting.
The incident occurred 7:45 on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 15th Terrace NE in Center Point, Sgt. Joni Money said. The victim was located by responding deputies.
Money said a male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were thought to be non-life threatening. Jefferson County Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incidents.

BEAUMONT, Texas Gun owners are being reminded again to secure their weapons and not leave them in unlocked vehicles after deputies arrested a man with stolen guns following several auto burglaries Sunday and Tuesday morning.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff s Office issued the reminder after a Houston man, Jeremiah Butts , 21, was arrested with several stolen guns following several auto burglaries at a Jefferson County RV park early Tuesday morning according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff s office.
‘They feel special’: Christmas comes early to children with moms in the Jefferson County Jail

Mothers who are in the Jefferson County jail got to experience a small part of the joy of Christmas morning joy by watching their kids open presents.
Children whose moms have no hope of getting out before Friday gathered at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office headquarters Wednesday morning to visit with them via video conference and receive mounds of gifts. The event was organized by Birmingham businessman Chris Woods and The Church of the Highlands Pastor Jamil Gilleylen and other members of the church.
