WORK to remodel part of a hospital has been completed. The University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, has a new combined entrance for its urgent and emergency care centre. Created in four months and using £3m of government funding, it means all self-presenting patients will use a single entrance for urgent and emergency care services, allowing people to be triaged more quickly. Chief operating officer Levi Buckley said: “The new entrance and remodelled interiors will help the trust manage the increase in emergency admissions we experience every winter. It will also play a vital role in tackling Covid-19 and longer term, it provides us with increased capacity to help patients.
