United States (US) Federal Communications Commission has designated five Chinese companies including telecom major Huawei Technologies Company as a threat to the US national security,
Economic Times.
The other four companies designated as a threat under a 2019 law aimed at protecting US communications networks include ZTE Corporation, Hytera Communications Corporation, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company and Zhejiang Dahua Technology Company.
Issuing a statement, FCC s chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said, This list provides meaningful guidance that will ensure that as next-generation networks are built across the country, they do not repeat the mistakes of the past or use equipment or services that will pose a threat to U.S. national security or the security and safety of Americans.
