Local assisted living residents reunite with loved ones after receiving vaccine

WBBJ TV February 26, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. Since the pandemic began, Alexandria Place residents were closed off from the world, only seeing and speaking to family and friends through a window or a phone call. Now after receiving their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, they are finally able to reunite with their loved ones. “When you are so isolated from your family, and then all of a sudden they can come in, it’s a different feeling that you have,” said resident Pat Delassus. “We’ve done a lot of virtual calls this year, a lot of window visits and even in-person visits that were six feet apart, but for them to be able to hug, just really interact and hear each other, has been just such a quality change,” said Alexandria Place Administrator Jennifer Brewer.

Letter: Criticism of KWD candidate contained misinformation

Portsmouth Herald Jan. 23 To the Editor: I am writing in response to a letter to the editor that was published on Jan. 22 from Suzanne Sayer. Unfortunately there was some misinformation that I would like to clarify. I have been on the Kittery Water District Board of Trustees for a little over a year and make every effort to be well informed and prepared for every meeting. This takes approximately 15- 25 hours per week for our weekly meetings. I do not take my responsibilities lightly. Before I was elected, I worked to sponsor a bill to enlarge the voter district so that everyone who’s a resident can vote. I worked with Rep. Deane Rykerson. Unfortunately our idea to use a “standard charter” created by the state was not supported by Trustee Golter and the KWD lawyer failed to write a bill that passed constitutional muster, so we withdrew it from consideration.
