NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested a man on Thursday after serving him a warrant for public indecency and inappropriate communication with a minor.
On February 4, deputies were dispatched to Geneva Township in reference to a male who had supposedly exposed himself to a female minor and offered to give her a ride in his car. The juvenile ran from the suspect and told her parents who immediately reported the crime.
JCSO developed a suspect, and in cooperation with the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office, identified the man as Brandon Cameron, 29, of North Vernon. He was already a registered sex offender.

JENNINGS COUNTY The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department has not made any arrests following a shooting that occurred at a residence in the northwestern part of the county on Dec. 4.
At 7:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 7000 block of North County Road 900W located in Geneva Township.
The incident occurred when Ryan Perry, 37, of Hope, went to the residence of Ashton Ayers, 51, in an attempt to locate a female acquaintance, Chief Deputy Dave Turner said.
Deputies said that Perry tried to gain entrance into the home when a physical altercation took place between him and Ayers. Turner said that Perry was shot with a handgun in the abdomen by Ayers after he attempted to enter the home a second time about 10 minutes after the first altercation.
