Marietta College’s Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music is pleased to air the final Choir Concert of the 2020-21 academic year at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 30th. The pre-recorded concert will air on the department’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX-wMNeLwiY.
The concert, which is under the direction of Dr. Jay Dougherty, features the Concert Choir and Women’s Choir, with a combined number at the end.
“This year, with all our COVID restrictions, has been unique, to say the least,” said Dougherty, Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities. “However, our students have stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park. Despite needing to mask and social distance, we’ve had some of the best sounding choirs since I’ve been here as director.”

SOUTHINGTON, CT — It's no secret that ski areas on Connecticut have had to go above and beyond the norm this season to accommodate the increased amount of visits with folks staying close to home ... and Mount Southington has been at the forefront of that shift since the early going.
Things like importing food trucks, moving the snack bar to a pickup window, keeping the outside rest rooms clean, running a comfortable skiing and snowboarding school and smartly timing its snowmaking have all contributed to a stellar season.

Masks are required, and outdoor capacity is capped at 50%. Hayes said it's a great way to enjoy the outdoors and stay safe.
"You can't ask for a better activity. We're wearing hats, gloves, masks, goggles, and wearing a 6-foot ski to keep our distance," said Hayes.
"I'm excited. I haven't gone skiing in a while, so it's going to be fun to get back out there," said 12-year-old Ryan Miller.
"The balancing part is the hardest, but it's also the funnest to try to balance," said 12-year-old Rebecca Miller.
