Orsted, Equinor join North Sea hydrogen project

Orsted and Equinor are among 10 new members of the AquaVentus initiative, which aims to generate 10GW of offshore wind-powered green hydrogen by 2035 in the North Sea. Other news members include WindMW, Offshore Wind Technologies, Vallourec, the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Buckstay, DNV, Karlsson and Boskalis. AquaVentus said it now has 50 members covering offshore energy generation and operation, risk management, maritime services, pipe and steel construction and artificial intelligence. Helgoland mayor Jorg Singer said: “We are still met with great interest from industry, business and science. “We are pleased about every new member who supports our plan to build a large-scale hydrogen park in the North Sea by 2035.
