Mubadala, Siemens Energy sign hydrogen MoU ABU DHABI, January 18, 2021 Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala) and Siemens Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive investment and develop advanced technology, manufacture equipment, and green hydrogen and synthetic fuel production.   The initial focus of activity will be in Abu Dhabi and it is intended this will be expanded to international markets over time, a WAM report said.   Mubadala and Siemens Energy have a long-standing relationship based on the strong links between the governments of the UAE and Germany.   Together with Masdar and other energy players in the Mubadala Group, the companies will work closely towards the following goals: utilising renewable energy to produce green hydrogen and synthetic fuels, providing clean and transportable energy to fuel new hydrogen-based ecosystems that are supplied from the UAE; establish an Abu Dhabi-headquartered world-class player in the synthetic

Starting January 18, 2021, filmmakers from Ethiopia are invited to apply for film development funding and training offered by DW Akademie.  Are you a filmmaker in Ethiopia? Have you already made at least one film? Do you have a concept or script for your next feature film, documentary or short film? If you answered “yes” to these three questions, then you qualify to apply for our Film Development Fund. Up to five successful candidates will receive a maximum of 10,000 euros and one year of professional mentorship to help develop their film idea. The program will include workshops and skills development by industry professionals mainly from the Global South and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).  These tailor-made trainings will enable you to take your project through the development stage and get your film ready for production.

E learning platform atingi enhances digital skills for one million African youth

atingi, the digital learning platform of The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has exceeded expectations in its first year. Within twelve months, atingi has reached almost a million people in Africa and already enabled 100,000 of them to access vocational education and self-development courses for free. atingi means to achieve in Esperanto, and the platform strives to improve the employability of young people through modern digital learning opportunities. With a large network of strategic cooperation partners – from politics and business to science and civil society – educational content which meets the needs of African audiences is made available, free of charge, via the atingi platform.
