3 killed in Jefferson County interstate incidents over the weekend, including pedestrian struck by vehicle

From The Tribune staff reports BIRMINGHAM The Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office released information about several deadly crashes on Birmingham-area interstates. On Friday, March 12, 2021, a Thorsby man was killed after a crash on Interstate 65 North. The crash happened around 6:20 a.m. near mile-marker 257, at Green Springs Avenue South, in Birmingham. Juan Jose Madina Torres, 46, was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead three hours later. The Birmingham Police Department is investigating. An Adamsville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, March 13, 2021, on Interstate 59 South. James Edward Henderson, 74, was pronounced dead on the scene near mile-marker 115, at the Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive exit. The crash happened at 6:38 p.m.

(Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service) Facebook Share Four people have been killed in Jefferson County traffic crashes since Friday, including a 30-year-old man whose SUV plowed into a vacant home in Birmingham. Davon Sinclair Harrell has been identified as the man who was found dead early Friday when a woman on her way home from work discovered the vehicle partially inside a home at 1008 Fourth Way in Pratt City. The discovery was made at 5:20 a.m.  Harrell, of Dolomite, was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:01 a.m.
