Shots fired at Williamsburg Premium Outlets after altercation in parking lot; police investigating

Around 5:50 p.m., dispatchers received calls about shots fired in the parking lot near the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store at the outlet mall.
When officers with the James City County Police Department arrived on scene, everyone involved in the incident had already left the scene.
Multiple witnesses told police that the people involved had gotten into an altercation in the parking lot, which led to shots being fired.
Officers found shell casings in the area.
Neither injuries nor damage to any property were reported.
UPDATE As of 2:57 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, James City County Police Department spokesperson, Stephanie Williams, said that the department does not have any new information nor suspects at this time.
WILLIAMSBURG At approximately 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, James City County Police Department (JCCPD) was called to the Williamsburg Premium Outlets on Richmond Road with reports of shots fired.
At 5:52 p.m., police arrived at the outlets to discover that the suspects had already fled the scene. Witnesses reported an altercation between an unclear number of people outside the Ralph Lauren store. JCCPD was able to collect shell casings on the premises.

The James City County Police Department will be offering four, free one-session firearm safety courses to the public through April at the county’s Law Enforcement Center.
The first class is Saturday.
“Each one-session class will cover basic safety, handling, storage and laws related to carrying a concealed handgun in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” according to a James City County Police Department news release.
“The course does not include hands-on training, and personal firearms should be left at home in a secure location,” the department added.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. Monday afternoon, the James City County Police Department shared that it was investigating two shootings from Sunday - one victim was found in Williamsburg, and another in Newport News.
A release from police said calls for help about the first victim came in around 3:18 a.m. in the 4800 block of Longhill Road in Williamsburg.
