Councillor Donal Kenny asked for an update on the issue of Camolin s Park Road at last week s meeting of Gorey-Kilmuckridge Municipal District.
Councillors heard that it would be Coillte undertaking works and Joanne Kehoe from the Roads section said that they have put a temporary fix in place until the full repair could be carried out. I spoke to Coillte and they are sourcing the culverts that are required by Inland Fisheries in order to do the repairs on that road to reopen it, she said. Coillte staff have put in steel plates so that the road can be used until the repairs are completed and they will receive the method statement shortly to apply for a derigation to fisheries. We are still working on getting those carried out.
The community of Camolin have welcomed the news that Coillte will carry out repair works on the Park Road where a large pot hole had fallen through revealing running water below.
Locals first came across the issue last month which caused disruption, and the road was closed off, but since then locals have reported another incident involving a vehicle that came into difficulty due to the limited access there.
Spokesperson on Roads for Gorey Kilmuckridge Municipal District Joanne Kehoe said that Coillte are putting plans in place to carry out repair works, and speaking to Liam Stafford of Coillte, he said that remedial works begin this week.
