Investigators identify woman killed in crash at Ironwood and SR 23
South Bend Police responded to the intersection around 3:15 p.m. for a two vehicle crash.
A Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Ironwood when it turned left in front of a GMC Denali, according to the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.
The Denali had a green light at the time, reports said.
The driver of the Impala suffered minor injuries.
A passenger in the Impala, 93-year-old Jeanette Spaulding, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She died of her injuries Wednesday evening.

SOUTH BEND â The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating a deadly crash between a bicyclist and a semitrailer late Friday morning at Olive Street and Western Avenue in South Bend.
Police said the collision happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. Friday. The road was closed for FACT members to investigate the scene.
The truck was southbound through the intersection, with a green light, when the bicyclist on Western rode into the intersection and hit the side of the tractor, according to police. The bicyclist had a red light.
The bicyclist was identified as Silbestre Murillo, in his late 30s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pedestrian hit and killed on State Road 23 identified
The victim has been identified as Juante M. Barry, 33.
Barry was hit and killed when he was struck by a vehicle on State Road 23 near 27th Street just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, investigators said.
The driver of the vehicle has cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
Barry’s autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Share this article:
