Georgia man, in Syracuse for drug plea, killed before he returned home, lawyer says

Syracuse, N.Y. Toddrick Rice had recently left Syracuse to begin a new life in Georgia.
But Rice, 21, had to return to Syracuse to resolve a felony drug charge from June of last year, said his lawyer, Heather Vincent. He never made it back to Georgia.
On Monday, Rice pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance. A judge allowed him to return to Georgia to serve a probationary sentence.

Cuomo shared a number of statewide statistics on vaccinations during a press conference today in Albany.
Central New York’s rate of vaccination for hospital workers places it in the middle of the pack statewide. The region with the highest percentage done is the Finger Lakes, at 70.5%, Cuomo said.
The Mid-Hudson region, at 57.9%, is lowest.
Central New York includes Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego counties.
