JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) A Sunday night house fire in the Currie community claimed two lives and injured a Jones County Sheriff’s Office deputy as he attempted to rescue one of the victims.
A 911 call came in at 11:21 p.m. Sunday of a structure fire at 11 Smith Drive. The caller did not know the address of the home, so Jones County dispatch assisted and located the address by pinging the cell phone signal of the caller.

Update: The two teenage girls who were reported missing out of Jones County, Iowa have been found, according to a spokesperson from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
On Friday morning, January 8, Special Agent Richard Rahn confirmed that the girls were safe. They were found in the Princeton, Illinois area by the Illinois State Police.
Rahn confirmed that police do not believe this was an abduction, but that they took it upon themselves to travel to another location.

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The Jones County Sheriff’s Office has arrested William Joseph Herrington on a charge of enticement of a child to meet for sexual purposes.
Herrington, 23, is accused of using social media to lure a 14-year-old girl to meet for sex, according to the sheriff’s office.
Herrington was arrested Friday morning. He will have his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court at 1 p.m.

[ORIGINAL STORY] Two Jones County girls, 13 and 14-years-old, are missing after last being seen Thursday afternoon in a Jones County park.
According to a Facebook post from Midland Middle/High School, 13-year-old Rylea Ostrander and 14-year-old Elizabeth Rodgers took a school bus to Lost Nation after school Thursday afternoon and then walked to Rylea s home in Lost Nation. Both girls are from Jones County. At approximately 4 p.m., the two girls walked to Rustic Park in Lost Nation. The girls have not been seen since that time. A school backpack was found in the park. The Iowa DCI says they are looking for a 2004 Silverado 2500. The license plate on the vehicle is 666YPI.
