Trainees of EU-funded project on civil-military cooperation honoured
The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Jordan and Expertise France on Wednesday held an award ceremony within the framework of the project “Reinforcing Jordan’s Capabilities at the Eastern Borders”, according to an EU statement.
Funded by the EU for a total amount of six million euros, this project aims to improve the coordination and sustainability of civil-military operations in the eastern border of Jordan, with the provision of a multi-agency logistical hub in Ruwaished, a town in the Mafraq Governorate, as well as capacity building activities.
The ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), was attended by Brigadier General Bassam Al Faleh, EU Ambassador to Jordan Maria Hadjitheodosiou and French Ambassador to Jordan Véronique Vouland.

AMMAN His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday inaugurated the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) Technical University College for Aviation Sciences building on the premises of the King Hussein Air College.
Jordan celebrates King’s 59th birthday

AMMAN The Kingdom on Saturday celebrated His Majesty King Abdullah’s 59th birthday.
Born in Amman on January 30, 1962, King Abdullah is the eldest son of His Majesty the late King Hussein and HRH Princess Muna.
A Royal Decree was issued on January 24, 1999, naming him Crown Prince. He assumed his constitutional powers as King on February 7, 1999, upon the passing of His Majesty the late King Hussein.
King Abdullah began his primary education at the Islamic Educational College in Amman and later attended St. Edmund’s School in Surrey, England. His secondary education took place at Eaglebrook School and Deerfield Academy in the US.
