Gunmen have killed seven herders in Chol Village of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The spokesman for the State Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, who confirmed the attack, said the incident occurred on Thursday evening.

Gabriel explained that more than 40 cattle were also killed in the attack.
He said: On 1/7/2021, the Plateau State Police Command received a report of an attack at Chol Village Vwang District of Jos South L.G.A by yet-to-be-identified armed men.

The House of Representatives has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IG), Usman Alkali Baba, to carry out investigations with the aim of bringing to justice the perpetrators of the recent killings in Kuru community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The resolution of the House followed the adoption of a motion moved at the plenary yesterday by Hon. Dachung Bagos.
Moving the motion, the lawmaker said there had been an increase in the rate of insecurity and killing of innocent people by persons who have been tagged as suspected gunmen in Nigeria of which his constituency has been part of the areas affected.

FOURTEEN persons, including two members of a family; Mr. Darap Ayuba Rap (aka Faa), and his younger brother, Mr. Stephen Ayuba Rap, have been confirmed dead in two separate attacks by gunmen in Plateau State.
It was learnt that while 12 persons were killed in Sabon Layi village, Kuru community, Jos South Local Government Area, two other persons were killed in Zogu village, Miango community in the Bassa LGA of the state.
Villagers said the attacks occurred on Sunday night while the people were sleeping.
