The Jamestown Public Schools District is taking matters into its own hands to get school staff members a COVID-19 vaccination.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently announced that teachers, police, firefighters, public transit workers and other first responders can now get vaccinated, along with people age 65 or older, making more than 3 million people in the state eligible. The state is only getting about 300,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine a week, leading to long waits to get eligible people vaccinated.
There are two ways right now to schedule a vaccine. One is to visit the state’s Am I Eligible website at am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov or the Chautauqua County Health Department’s signup site for local clinics at chqgov.com/public-health/covid-19-vaccination-clinics.
