A Leitchfield woman was arrested on multiple charges early Wednesday morning, including wanton endangerment after an Elizabethtown Police Department officer was stuck by an uncapped syringe found in a bag belonging to her.
Lynda Schenk, 42, is charged with one count of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison, if convicted, as well as first offense, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance â methamphetamine and two misdemeanors.
According to an arrest citation, an officer saw a vehicle driving south on Interstate 65 with a license plate not illuminated. During the traffic stop, Schenk was asked if she had anything on her or in the vehicle that would âstick me, stab me or poke me.â She said she didnât.
