3 people arrested for torture, murder of Las Vegas man in Nye County

Three people have been arrested for allegedly torturing and killing a Las Vegas man, whose body was discovered in a remote part of Southern Nevada this weekend, according to the Nye County Sheriff's Office. The body was discovered Sunday morning in Cathedral Canyon, near the California state line south of Pahrump, Capt. David Baruchowitz said in a video statement from the sheriff's office.

According to the Nye County Sheriff s Office, the missing girl s name is  Angel, and she is 16 years old. She s described as being 5’0, 100lbs, blonde hair, brown eyes.  She was last seen Sunday, June 27, near Madeline Court in Pahrump, Nevada.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Nye County Sheriff s Office at (775)751-7000.

A ceremony was held to mark the addition of Lt. Erik Lloyd, Sgt. Ben Jenkins and Bailiff Gerald Smith to the Nevada Law Enforcement Memorial, located near the state legislature. Erik Lloyd oversaw the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department s Force Investigation Team and was the president of the Injured Officers Police Fund. He died in July last year due to complications of COVID-19, and LVMPD considered his passing a line of duty death.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said Tyler Kennedy, 32, of Tolleson, Arizona, was being held at the Nye County Jail in Pahrump pending a court appearance on charges also including reckless driving resulting in death or serious injury.
