Cory Almklov, 40, Jamestown, was found guilty by a 12-person jury on March 12 of criminal attempt, murder, a Class A felony, aggravated assault and burglary, Class C felonies, two counts of making a false report to law enforcement officers, Class A misdemeanors, and theft of property a Class B misdemeanor.
Almklov was accused of making substantial steps towards the murder of another person, causing substantial bodily injury to another individual, making false reports during 911 calls and entering a building and taking property valued at less than $500 on Aug. 17.

Four people were sentenced on felony charges recently in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Monty Sabinash, 69, Kensal, N.D., pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony.
Sabinash was accused of having smoking devices for methamphetamine on July 4 with previous convictions in 2002, 2016 and 2018.
Judge Troy LeFevre sentenced Sabinash to one day in the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation with credit for one day served. Sabinash was ordered to undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and complete treatment and to pay a $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee and a $25 victim-witness fee.
Democrat lawmakers tour Anamosa prison, blame Republicans for attack

ANAMOSA, Iowa (KWWL) Since a nurse and a corrections officer were killed by inmates at the Anamosa State Penitentiary, the facility and Iowa s prison system has been under scrutiny.
On Friday morning, several democrat lawmakers toured the prison. Sen. Zach Wahls (D), District 37, Rep. Marti Anderson (D), District 36, Rep. Eric Gjerde (D), District 67 and Sen. Todd Taylor (D), District 35 spoke with reporters after their tour.
Union president Danny Homan joined them outside, where he and the politicians took aim at the Department of Corrections, Governor Reynolds and their republican colleagues.

– Jason Ableiter, St. Louis Park, Minn., pleaded guilty to an infraction charge of issuing a check or draft without sufficient funds or credit. Judge Michael Hurly of the Northeast Judicial District ordered Ableiter to pay $166.00 in fees and restitution, due on March 12.
